![]() I only cook because what I can make is usually better than what I find meaning I can eat stew and drink one tea or yucca juice to fill up instead of eating three or four cans of food and drinking 3 to 4 drinks. In the very early stages of my current game I had to cook a lot but now that I'm past day 105 the game hands me enough food and water, tea, coffee, etc. I have a dozen or so loot drops and a small base in my current game that are nothing more than that - and they never get attacked or damaged. ![]() You can just as easily drop a few crafting stations and storage boxes on the road somewhere. Even if I generate a lot of heat at the base it rarely gets attacked. I can even run around near it on horde nights and it's always just fine. I do have a home base that's protected by a lot of spikes but the zeds are never a threat to it. I only made the horde base to test out some of the traps the game gave me and to try a simple horde base setup to see if it would work and it did. I was able to easily run around on blood moon nights and simply shoot everything that came at me (standard difficulty) with ease. I only recently made a small (very small) horde base. Zeds could actually be killed from fall damage back then, I think that got changed in 17, maybe 18.Įxactly my experience lately, too. Originally posted by DrLamp:I made a base like this in A16. Nah, the game is no longer a crafting, building, survival, base defense, horde game. Only reason I'm still on the forums is that one day I hope I read about some GOOD changes coming to the game. These days I only play it every now and then, but the magic is gone. My nephew stopped playing a long while back. With the thousands of rounds of ammo I pick up from POI's (and no, I don't have loot rate boosted), and all the LVL6 everything that inevitably just gets dropped in my lap, why would I ever waste my time building some big huge murder machine creation, when game design dooms it to fail before I've laid the first block? Sure it may be pretty to look at, but it's simply a waste of time in the end. You can do the maths yourself and you will see that all walls are not only weaker, but zombies hit them harder.ģ. Since A16 (when I started playing) there has been a steady stream of nerfs to how strong you can make any base. TFP don't want you to build one except to chuckle to themselves when you waste your time. Can't remember the last time I actually MADE a weapon or crafted anything other than maybe food (of which there is plenty just lying around) or perhaps repair kits.Ģ. I don't build a home base except to store crap. These days, I've started doing what the devs apparently want you to do if you look at their design decisions.ġ. ![]() It used to be, but TFP have made so many changes to block strength, block materials, block upgrades, zombie block damage, zombie types, zombie AI, code to multiply zombie block damage in some seems that on the one hand TFP want you to build a base and fight from it, but on the other hand, they want that base to be destroyed no matter what you do. To me, 7DTD isn't even really a tower defense game anymore. All to watch it fail miserably as soon as the horde comes. Digging, crafting, and building everything you will need will take you probably a week IRL. If you want to build something like this I'm all but certain you're going to start to cheat-mode in the stuff you need to build it. Messy and fun, but not a whole lot faster really. My nephew was helping me do the initial digging and eventually I just crafted up a bunch of gas barrels and TNT (back when that was a thing) and just rigging demo charges everywhere. Zeds could actually be killed from fall damage back then, I think that got changed in 17, maybe 18.Įven then it was a massive hassle just to dig the pit.
